Maharishi Jyotish, or Vedic Astrology, is a detailed mathematical science of prediction that is applied to foresee the influences—positive and negative—coming in one’s life. At the time of a Jyotish consultation, a Jyotishi (an expert in Maharishi Jyotish) will construct a birth horoscope—Janma Kundali—using a few specific items of information such as the time, date, and place of birth. 

To create the birth chart, the Jyotishi uses a highly sophisticated computer program. From the birth chart the Jyotishi can analyze the relationships between the nine planets, or Grahas, the twelve Rashis, or signs of the zodiac, and the twelve Bhavas, or houses, of the birth chart.

On the basis of this analysis, the Jyotishi predicts the effect of one’s past actions on health, wealth, professional success, marriage, spiritual progress, etc., as well as future trends and tendencies, evaluating the favorable and unfavorable influences during any time period. 

The Jyotishi is then able to recommend Maharishi Yagya performances, which will enhance the favorable influences in one’s life and counteract those influences that are unfavorable, in order to promote success and good fortune.
